New Year Resolution!

A New Year Resolution doesn't need to be made right before a new calendar year starts.   A new school year is about to begin and my time for self reflection is limited so I'm going to put together a starting point for things I want to work on on this upcoming (school) year and so on...

1.   Learn to save money and budget better.  For living on my own for the first year and not being in debt/bankrupt like my dad thought I would, is a pretty darn good start.  But, like all things, I have room for improvement.  How am I going to save money?....

2.  Only buy things that I need.  Seriously. Stop laughing. I realize that this will be a HUGE challenge for me since well, you know, it's me and I tend to shop, shop, shop.  I *finally* realized how much money I waste on things.  After cleaning my closet and kitchen and realizing how much stuff I don't use... that trendy sweater that still has tags on it after a year, the all-in-one blender/chopper/grater that is still in the box, or the books on my shelf that I haven't read.... I need to cut down on the crap.  I don't need stuff.  I need to do stuff - which leads me to #3.

3.  Travel!  This year I said that I would travel and get out of North America.  I haven't quite gotten out however I have done more that is outside of my comfort zone (Thank you, Reid) and the year isn't over yet.  Hopefully next summer I will get to Thailand, Greece, or South America... I will get to at least one of them!

4.  Eat better! Not that I am an unhealthy eater, but I bought this book "Master Your Metabolism" by Jillian Michaels and I need to use it (see #2 above).  Using the book will justify it's purchase (haha) as well as motivate me to make healthier choices for both my body and my wallet. 

So far so good... I'll keep adding to this list and I'm sure I'll construct a nice list of 25 things I'm going to do at 25, just like Kelly did.  :)
